Two totally unique and museum pieces: the large portrait photo of one of the II Class Saloon Steward of the R. Franklin, on duty during the tragic maiden voyage of the British ocean liner, where he lost his life, and his personal "White Star Line" badge! The large portrait photo of Mr.

Alan Franklin era, has a contemporary dark/walnut and gilded wood frame. On the back is shown, posthumously, the name of the person depicted, his profession, place of birth, burial and the date of discovery of the body in the sea: "Alan Franklin, steward of the RMS Titanic, was born in Norwich, Norfolk, buried Halifax, body found in the sea, 17 April 1912 ". In the lot, along with the portrait, it is present one of the personal badges of the Stewart Alan V. Franklin: the famous "white star" of the White Star Line!

Note: one of these "white stars", identical to that offered in our lot note: the word "Titanic" was added later by hand, in ink! Another of these rare and almost unique "white stars", always identical to ours, owned by Frank P. Aks family, survived the disaster, appears in the book "Titanic, fortune and fate" (see scans below). The two pieces are in excellent condition and preserve intact the charm of the time. The extraordinary ownership of these relics to a crew member of the "RMS Titanic", who died in the sinking... Almost uniqueness of these particular pieces on the market...
