Incredibly rare Titanic postcard, made of silk and 105 years of age. Some scuffing, discoloration and toning, but no major bends or tears. Back says "From Tom to Irene".
Silk postcards were first introduced in 1902. These postcards have the address and message side printed in the conventional manner. The scenic side has a small Stevens woven silk picture, surrounded by a pressed, relief patterned border design. This card depicts the passenger liner Titanic, which sank on her maiden voyage.
