White Star Line. Titanic. 1st Class Serving Tray
A fabulous Edwardian period serving tray made by Elkingtons. The White Star Line burgee is present in the centre of the tray. This is surrounded by a trefoil and acanthus leaf pattern which, in turn, is surrounded by an entwined rope pattern. The tray is raised on three foliate design feet.

The piece has the Elkington date cypher for 1907 so it's highly probable that this pattern was used in the First class saloons of the Titanic/Olympic class liners. Condition is very good with no wear to the plating.

Could do with a clean and polish. I'm reluctant to do this as this removes any natural patina if it is overdone. Heavy gauge item 1.5KG. Stands about 3.5cm high.
